Postcard from the edge

Due to unforseen circumstances, Angelic Knight Press have reset the release date for their upcoming ‘No Place Like Home‘ anthology to 13th August, which means you’ll just have to wait a couple more months to get your hands on this collection of nightmarish visions of the near future.

In the meantime though, they’ve released this snazzy postcard as a reminder for the new release date, and will be distributing promotional material whilst at the World Horror Convention (13-16th June), including posters, bookmarks and even t-shirts.

Enjoy!PostCardFFWithBackGround

Update: The anthology is now pushed back to a September launch. Exact date TBC.

Invitation to Madness

Recently established publishing outfit ‘Forgotten Tomb‘ are a small press with big ambitions, who recently invited me to submit to one of their first forays into the world of anthologies.

My piece, ‘Rank & Defile‘, has now been accepted into their ‘100 Doors To Madness‘ anthology, which aims to celebrate the diversity of the horror genre by providing 100 original scares from 100 different authors in the form of flash/micro fiction.

They’ve had the great idea of keeping the Table of Contents as a live document, so anyone wanting to keep track with whose getting involved can do so over at the FT website link above.

Publication is planned for September 2013, but the anthology may be out earlier if the 100 slots 100doorstomadnessfrontbecome filled before then. The anthology should be available from all the usual online retailers and I’ll put up more details nearer the time. Until then here’s a preview of the cover artwork to whet your appetite.

Insight into Horror

Those lovely people over at Cyber Launch Party are spending today celebrating the release of the ‘Shadow Masters‘ anthology.

Several of the included authors will be stopping by over the course of the day, to spend time giving people a bit more info about both themselves and where the idea for their story in the anthology originally came from.

You can check out what each of us had to say on the origins of their particular horror at either the blogspot or the Facebook event page.

Out Of The Shadows

OUT TODAY: The ‘Shadow Masters‘ anthology from The Horror Zine is now available from Imajin Books.

Below, as promised, is the full cover reveal, and a Table of Contents to whet your appetite. As you can see, award-winning editor Jeani Rector has assembled some serious talent in these pages.

If you’re quick, you can grab an e-copy from Amazon for the bargain price of £0.77.

Details of the various outlets you can buy the anthology from are listed over on the Publications Page.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to attend an online launch party (I just hope the booze isn’t electronic as well!).

Shadows drawing near

The official release date for the upcoming ‘Shadow Masters‘ anthology from The Horror Zine has now been confirmed as  Monday 27th May 2013.

Imajin Books will be releasing the anthology in both trade paperback and for Kindle. I should have an artwork preview to share with you all a few days before the release, so stay tuned.

The ‘blade itself

Have just heard that my story ‘With The Band‘ has been accepted by Niteblade magazine for publication in their September issue. Am really pleased with this one, as it’s a magazine that I’ve been trying to ‘crack’ for a while now.

Early days yet, but once paperworks done, I’ll update the site with a publication date etc.

Strange bedfellows

Author Lisa J Hobman recently invited me to write a guest blog for her over at Glipho, which came as something of a pleasant surprise.

Whilst many would suggest that our respective genres are worlds apart in terms of their subject matter, personally I think that romance and horror have a lot more in common than one might initially think.

You can read my thoughts on the matter here… and while you’re there, why not find out a bit more about Lisa and her work 🙂

Delayed Futures

Angelic Knight Press‘ upcoming ‘No Place Like Home‘ anthology, which was originally slated for a January release, has now been pushed back a few months.

The book will be released in June, just before the World Horror Convention in New Orleans, so for now it seems that the near future will just have to remain that little bit further away.

A Home for Horror

The previously mentioned upcoming anthology from The Horror Zine now has a publisher and a name.

Imajin Books were the publisher for The Horror Zine‘s previous anthology ‘What Fears Become’ so it seems fitting that they will now follow it up with this new collection, entitled ‘Shadow Masters’.

Jeani Rector has assembled another impressive cast of contributors for this latest anthology and I’m extremely excited to be a part of it.

More information and publication dates to follow once I know.

Bug’s Life

The second of this month’s new stories, ‘To Kafka, With Love‘, is now available over at The WiFiles.

The story is free to read online and you can check it out here.WiFiles Small
